Gorilla Trekking Permits
Gorilla trekking permits are permits that allow individuals to participate in gorilla trekking
activities in designated gorilla parks or reserves. These permits are issued by the respective
wildlife authorities in the countries where gorilla trekking is available, primarily in Uganda,
Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Gorilla trekking permits are usually limited in number and need to be obtained in advance due to
the limited availability of daily permits. The permits are issued on a first-come, first-served
basis, and it is recommended to book well in advance to secure a spot.
The cost of gorilla trekking permits varies depending on the country and park. In Rwanda, the
permits are currently priced at $1,500 per person, while in Uganda, they cost $800 for foreign
non-residents and $600 for foreign residents. In the Democratic Republic of Congo, the permits
are priced at $400 for foreign non-residents and $200 for foreign residents.
Gorilla trekking permits are essential for anyone wishing to trek and observe gorillas in their
natural habitat. The revenue generated from these permits contributes to the conservation efforts
and protection of gorillas and their habitats.
