Queen Elizabeth national park is the second largest wildlife destination in Uganda made of different amazing natural features such as numerous crater lakes, the Maramagambo forest reserve, the gorgeous Kyambura gorge and Ishasha plains in the southern sector. Queen Elizabeth national park is an ideal wildlife park in Uganda and Africa for the wildlife sighting tours, chimpanzee tracking, boat cruising safari, birding safari and nature hiking.

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is situated in the southwestern part of Uganda with an area of 321 km2 and it is a recognized World Heritage site by UNESCO. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National park is a home to half of the world’s remaining population of the endangered mountain gorillas with over 450 mountain gorillas.

Lake Mburo National park is amazingly the closest national park to Kampala , it also doubles as the smallest national park. Situated between Masaka and Mbarara district taking approximately 4 hours’ drive time to arrive. The park covers an area of 370km² including the lakes ( 5 lakes). Lake Mburo is endowed with several wildlife species to mention recently translocated giraffes, buffaloes, elands, waters bucks, antelopes, zebras, oribis, topis , warthogs as you take a boat cruise on lake Mburo you will be in position to observe , hippos and crocodiles. In addition, the park also is home a wide a ray of birds amounting to 350 species some which include water birds, forest and savanna birds.

  1. Day 2 Leave Entebbe – Drive to Lake Mburo National Park – Evening & Night game drives

    After your early morning breakfast, start your adventurous journey to Lake Mburo National park in the western Uganda across the Equator imaginary line with an en-route stop here to witness the water experiments showing the movement of forces for example; The water moves anti-clockwise on the Southern Hemisphere of the Equator and clockwise on the Northern Hemisphere. After the experiment, take some memorial photos, have a cup of coffee and thereafter, continue with your drive to Lake Mburo National Park to check in at your reserved lodge to relax, have lunch and later in the evening go for an evening and night game drive to spot various wildlife species in this park such as; the Elands, Warthogs, Buffaloes, Zebras, Waterbucks, Giraffes and many others. Continue with the game drive till night to search for the nocturnal species that cannot easily be spotted during day time such as Leopard, Bush pigs, White tailed mongoose, Genet cat spotted hyenas to mention but few.   2. Day 3 Lake Mburo National Park – Early morning horseback riding safari – Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

    Today after breakfast, go for your morning jungle horseback riding in the park. Lake Mburo national park is the only destination in Uganda where horseback riding can be done in the wilderness. It provides an opportunity to watch a number of wildlife species such as Elands, Zebras, Impalas Giraffes and Buffaloes from a closer distance without them being scared like it’s when doing a game drive with a vehicle and there is a chance to get off the usual game drive tracks which makes it to be the best way of exploring the park and spotting many species. After your adventurous morning horseback riding safari, start the journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park the home base to half of the world’s remaining population of mountain gorillas. On your way to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, you will have a visit to Lake Bunyonyi for boat canoeing. Lake Bunyonyi is the deepest Lake in Uganda and second deepest in Africa with 29 small islands and each island has its unique interesting story for example Akampene (Punishment Island) which was used to punish girls who were found pregnant before their official marriage by isolating them there until death as a way to teach lesson to others not to do the same mistake. In African culture, it is an abomination for a girl to get pregnant before marriage and it cause disrespect to the family therefore, parents would always work hard to keep their girls safe until they get officially married and anyone who would get pregnant before marriage, would be punished. After Lake Bunyonyi proceed with your journey to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park to check in at your reserved lodge to relax dinner and an overnight.

  3. Day 4 Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park – Mountain gorilla trekking – Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park

    After having your morning breakfast with your packed lunch, meet your driver guide and drive to the park information center to meet other guests to be briefed about the guidelines to follow during mountain gorilla trekking and later, start your forest walk to search for the endangered mountain gorillas the most endangered primates. During mountain gorilla trekking, you will spot other wildlife species living in this park such as forest Elephants, Bush pigs, other primates like White and black colombus monkeys, Chimpanzees, bird species and many others. Your guide will talk about everything that you will spot which will make your forest walk so interesting. The time will take while looking for the mountain gorillas is no known but it is expected to be between 30 minutes to 6 hours subjected on the location and movement of the gorilla family that you are tracking. When you meet them, you will spend with them a maximum of 1 hour while following their moves, enjoying their actions like young ones playing, adults making nests and taking photos. After meeting eye to eye with the endangered mountain gorillas, return to the park information center to pick your trekking certificate, have lunch and refreshments and then drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park to spend your evening relaxing with an en-route game drive through Ishasha sector to search for the tree climbing lions and later continue with your drive to check in at your reserved lodge.   4. Day5 Queen Elizabeth National Park - Early Morning game drive – Afternoon Boat cruise – Kasoga community tour

    Walk up early in the morning to enjoy your breakfast, then drive to the park for your morning wildlife sighting game drive through Kasenyi plain. Kasenyi plain is commonly known as the mating ground for the Uganda Kobs and hunting zone to the big predators of the park search as Lions, Leopard, Spotted hyenas and many others. During your morning game drive, you may be able to catch the big cats such as Lions and Leopard when they are still active hunting. You will spot herds of huge Elephants, Uganda Kobs, Caped buffaloes, Warthogs, Waterbucks, Spotted hyenas and many other mammals. Queen Elizabeth national park is popularly known as the medley of wonders due to its wildlife diversity. After your game drive, relax, have lunch and then go for your 2 hours afternoon boat launch on the Kazinga channel. The Kazinga Channel is the 32 km water stream which connects Lake George to Lake Edward and the major water supply of the park. This channel is said to have the highest population of hippopotamuses and crocodiles in Uganda and Africa. During cruising on the channel, you will spot huge population of hippos, Nile crocodiles and other land mammals when they have to take water and swimming search as waterbucks, Elephants, Uganda Kobs, caped buffaloes and many other. If you are a bird lover, this is the best place to spot many bird species. After a boat launch safari on the Kazinga channel, visit Kasoga community for the community engagements with the local people around the park. Dinner and an overnight

  5. Day 6 Queen Elizabeth National Park – Chimpanzee tracking – Drive back to Entebbe International Airport

    Today, after having breakfast with all your bags ready packed in the car, leave the lodge and drive to Kalinzu forest reserve for chimpanzee tracking walk. Chimpanzees are our closest relatives sharing 98.8% human DNA. Kalinzu forest reserve, inhabits about 414 tree species, 378 bird species including the Great Blue Turaco, Black and White Cascket, 6 Primate Species which include Chimpanzees. After chimpanzee encounter, have lunch and refreshments and then embark on your return drive to Entebbe international airport to meet your return flight.
