About Akagera National Park

Akagera National Park in Rwanda lies in the eastern region of this country at the border with the African biggest country Tanzania. The conservation process has been done by the African park who have ensured that conservation was steep and this even saw some of the animals getting reintroduced into the park. the park previously was affected by human wildlife conflicts but this was amicably handled by fencing part of the park which let wildanilas outside the park to attack the local people and then by streamlining the policies that allowed the local communities to access by park via community tours and giving them park part of the collections received from the park.

The park is the only one in Rwanda with open savannah grassland and it boasts a lot of animals such as the bushbucks, elephants, leopards, waterbucks, lions, kobs, hippopotamus and the endangered Rhinos where were re-introduced into the park from South Africa.
