Are you still looking for When is the best time to visit Kidepo Valley National park? Well, the park can be visited throughout the year. However, there are periods or months when the conditions are much fit for a wildlife safari to visit the park. In Uganda there two seasons namely the wet season or rainy season and the dry season. Visiting Kidepo national park can be best done in the dry season during mid-May up to September and December to February. With this period, Bot Rivers Kidepo and Nurus dry up and only small ponds are left for animals to concentrate on especially when it is in the afternoon for drinking water and here visitors get a chance to see a variety of mammals and bird species in this park.
The rains bring back the rivers and the animals tend to scatter and feed in smaller groups because there is sufficient food and water everywhere. Although the dry season has its disadvantages, some visitors may find the heat and dust rough. The short rainy season still has decent views of the animals.
The animals are joined by migratory birds making it the best time to go birding. The heat is acceptable and even cool. Inappropriately during the wet season, some of the animals move to higher ground to avoid getting wet down at the rivers and swamps forcing tourists to go out looking for them.
